1125 To Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/MH.{M. Huckerby}6.2.40. Now that the designs of the Left Hand car are nearing completion, there are one or two simplifications to the Rationalised chassis which we were thinking of before the War and which could now, with advantage, receive design consideration. They are as follows:- (1) Simplified flexible flywheel. (2) Sheet metal rear cross member. (3) Simplified bent front pan. (4) Simplified propellor shaft centre bearings. We already have designs in hand for (a) Less costly front pivot and (b) Simpler type of petrol tank. Clapham has done some work on the front pan, removing portions of it, and we shall shortly be ready to discuss the necessary design modifications. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
