We would like to outline in detail the order of importance of the detailing which has to be carried out, bearing in mind the programme which has been mapped out for Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} and the Expl. Test Dept. The order in degree of importance is given by the figures under each heading. ENGINE. (1) Complete details and L.O.P's of the final B.60. 3.250 bore engine for Ripplet as given in the specification. (2) Complete the major long distance items on the three other engines in the B.60. range. (3) Complete details and L.O.P's for the B.40. engine 2.935. bore and the crankcase etc for the larger bore. GEARBOX. (1) Complete details and L.O.P. of the Senior Gearbox for Right Hand Side Change. (2) Details and L.O.P. of the Left Hand Side Change. (3) Details and L.O.P. for the Column Gear Change. Chassis. RIPPLET. (1) Complete details and L.O.P's for all sections of the Ripplet Specification which are not yet rounded up and in particular the Frame Drilling and the Radiator Shell. FRAME. RIPPLETTO. (1) The completion of the frame details and L.O.P. together with the frame drilling and assembly for Rippletto to enable a frame to be instructed. LEFT HAND SILVER PHANTOM. On the receipt of a Draft Specification from the Design Office:- (1) A detailed specification of the Chassis. (2) Frame Drilling and Frame Assembly. (3) Details and L.O.P's of all sections on the specification which are not complete. From time to time it will be necessary to sandwich in work for the Expl. Test Dept. A case in point is that of the detailing of the scheme for the Humber Damper on B.60. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
