Dear Sirs, We beg to confirm our telephone conversation of this afternoon with your Mr. Grylls in connection with nine bearings G.83388 returned to us in accordance with your letter dated the 26th ult., also six off G.83388 and four off GB.2035 returned in accordance with your letter of the 14th ult., the main cause for complaint being that the faces of the inner and outer rings are out of line to the extent of from .002" to .0025" in one case, and .002" to .004" and .005" in the other case. As explained during our telephone conversation, the manufacturing tolerances on the various tracks and faces render it impossible for us to guarantee that the faces of the inner and outer races are flush, and understand that your Mr. Grylls is now investigating this matter and will communicate with us further, also if necessary visit these Works to discuss the matter.
