We have at last received the standard pump No.1312 with the larger clearance and rollers, and this is now running endurance. The other similar pump will be placed on a chassis. With regard to the partial plating of the unions, we are afraid we cannot give you the name of any firm that would do this. We have, however, had the enclosed union done here as a sample and there did not appear to be any difficulty about it, the only additional labour and time being taken dipping the piece in wax and melting off afterwards. Perhaps the trouble is that the pieces are plated in a barrel and the wax gets chipped off.

If you can let us know what the actual difficulty is we might be able to make a suggestion.

We thank you for your drawings of the standard Pump.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
