Re "Kite" Frame Side Members.
We have set the front and rear ends of this frame out more in detail, and have submitted our schemes to Mr Royce In the meanwhile we understand that you are detailing the side members, and are about to issue them, and we think it would be wise if some consideration were taken of our schemes before the detail gets too far. We are accordingly sending you two prints of "N" Scheme 689 shewing the front and rear dumb irons, but we wish it to be understood that this drawing may not be approved at all, and in any case is sure to be altered in some respects, but we think that the down-set of the front end 5", and that at the rear end is likely to be adhered to.
As we are proposing several alternative methods of making the rear dumb iron, it will also be evident that a little length at the end of the frame for the first few frames would be desirable to enable us to fit the scheme that happens to be chosen.
