RE GOSHAWK II FRAME. With regard to Mr. Royce's memo R6/G17.1.21, and R3/G18.1.21, we send you herewith drawing LeC.1330 shewing the altered side channel for the "Goshawk" II frame. We would like to point out that the alterations are as follows:- The top of the frame is now 21 1/4" from the ground, instead of 21". The depth of the frame is now 6" instead of 5". The rear end of the frame from the top of the back axle has been raised 3/4" on the lower edge so as to give a 5 1/4" metal to metal bump instead of 4 3/4". The bump will be 4 3/4" with a 1 1/4" rubber buffer compressed to 3/4". The rear springs remain unaltered in camber and hence also the position of the front end, and the position of the rear shackle. The depth of the frame section over the rear axle has been increased slightly on account of the increase in depth in the main portion of the frame. LeC.1330 shews the side channels set out on a straight line base which will give you an idea of what alteration had been made to the ends of the frame. The front end of the frame has been slightly altered to conform to the greater depth of the centre, and the alterations have resulted in a much cleaner appearance. Contd. | ||
