Dear Sirs,

We understand from British Insulated Cables Ltd. that you might be able to carry out for us some welding on rear axle tubes. The work would consist of electrically butt welding a 5" dia. tube x 3/16" thick to the end flange. This we believe requires a welding plant of fairly large capacity. We want to make both the flange and the tube in .4 carbon steel.

If you would be able to do this, perhaps you would quote us for welding a few experimental sets, and also the approximate price for doing the job in batches of 400.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
