To HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/W.Bell from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} 8 646. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}3.5.38. WRAITH GOVERNOR UNIT. The flexible pipe shown on FCD.637 from the governor unit to the chassis frame is instructed for production because the coiled pipe fails. It is imperative to test it as quickly as possible. The specimen handed to you should be fixed in such a way that it is bent as on a chassis, and one end should be oscillated through 1". A pressure should be maintained in the pipe, about 50 lbs/sq.inch, and the oil used should be governor oil. We already use this make of flexible pipe for petrol. If the frequency is 4 per second we think the pipe will do very well if it stands 300 hours. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
