SECRET. INDIA. K5380. TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} [Struck through] FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EVI/M16/6/25. Copy to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BODY SUB FRAME. (K5380) Whilst setting out the heelboard cross member, and as a result of tests made on the EAC. subframe by the coachbuilders we feel inclined to stiffen up the joggle at the rear as indicated on N. Sch. 2016. herewith. Tests seem to go to prove that nearly all the deflection is concentrated at this joggle and we fear that the rear hinge pillar will be affected. WW We are forwarding you this drawing hoping that we shall not be too late to get this feature on the subframe which we understand the Exp. Dept. are building. The complete scheme of the rear end shewing the heelboard will follow tomorrow. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
