Dear Mr. Grylls, Referring to our very pleasant chat 10 days or so ago, I have not forgotten the points you raised. First of all, Shock Absorber Oils. I find that as I had anticipated, Castrol Shockol is almost identical with Shell Shock Absorber Oil Light, both products conforming to the specification issued by General Motors through Vauxhall Motors Ltd. for a suitable oil to be used in their shock absorbers. For your own information, I attach hereto copy of their specification L.8 and would again confirm that both the above grades conform to it and actually, are almost identical. Regarding the Hypoid Gear Lubricant question, I have not yet received complete information of our competitors' products on this but hope to be writing to you in the course of a week or so on the points which you raised. So far as grease nomenclatures are concerned, as it so happens, I am attending a meeting of the other companies next week and will raise with them then, the points which we discussed together. In the meantime, many thanks for your assistance. I sincerely hope that Mr. Wilks was able to give you the necessary information regarding certain "S.A.E.30" oil!! With kind regards, Yours sincerely, Jordan W. Todd | ||
