ROAD TEST WORK. P.III. Clutches. Tests to prove the durability and take up qualities of the plate we are standardising. Experiments with a servo spring to reduce clutch pedal pressure. Overheating. Tests at Brooklands concluded and report to be issued. Solution found for customers' cars overheating in London traffic. Brakes. Work continued on combined hand and foot brake shoes. Flexible Flywheel. Experiments carried out to determine the best setting of the flexible flywheel and whether this will enable us to do away with the slipper wheel. Petrol System. Work carried out to determine the best position of the 3rd pump when combined with the pump fitted in the frame. Also to eliminate the formation of vapour between petrol pump and carburetter. Suspension. Gordon Armstrong dampers tried out. Running endurance on 33-EX. Top over-oiling. Endurance running on close clearance inlet valve guides. Sparking plug tests. Tests to reduce exhaust valve clearance. 15,000 Miles' Test. 32-EX. Having completed a week's running in London has been in the Shop for final modifications, and is now ready to start endurance running again. 35-EX. Strip examination has been concluded, and this car will now be re-built. All reports have been issued as to results and what we have got out of trial. Continental P.III.
