TELEPHONE: GLADSTONE 6671-2. SMITH'S JACKING SYSTEMS LTD. DIRECTORS: A.{Mr Adams} GORDON SMITH, CHAIRMAN. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} W. SESSIONS, GENERAL MANAGER. C. W. NICHOLS, R.{Sir Henry Royce} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} SMITH. EDGWARE ROAD - CRICKLEWOOD - LONDON N.W.2 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/MH{M. Huckerby} 30th December, 1938 S.H.Grylls, Esq., Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Mr.Grylls, I thank you for your letter of the 28th inst. from which I note we are to receive your official order for three more Hydrolift jacks for Bentley cars. I also note that you require the brackets to be similar to those despatched to you with the first two jacks, but in view of a possible modification to these at a later date, we shall not put special dies in hand. You will appreciate that the machining of these special brackets on your Hydrolift jacks is a very expensive job and although we supplied the first sample without charging you for this item, we now propose invoicing this to you at a price of £9. 0. 0d. to cover a complete jack and hand-made bracket to your specification and which has, of course, already been delivered to you. I am mentioning this fact as perhaps you would care to cut your proposed order down to a smaller number. anyway I shall be glad if you will be good enough to let me have your comments with regard to this, before we put the work in hand. Yours sincerely, DWS/IKS | ||
