Sr. Has asked me to write to you to say that, as he is leaving for the South of France next Friday and will drive the above car both to and from the South of France at a high average speed, he proposes to use Castrol XXL instead of Castrol XL, so as to find out what the oil pressure will actually drop to when the car has been driven for a long distance at high speed. For your information, the oil pressure on this car when in a hot condition drops to 22 lbs. However, when the car has been driven at high speed for about 100 Kms. the oil pressure drops to 17 lbs. Therefore, providing you see no objection, Sr. will use XXL oil. We are aware that Castrol XXL is a summer oil and that difficulty will be experienced in starting up if cold weather is encountered. We have in the past used Castrol XXL in the summer on certain 3 1/2 litre Bentley cars, but we discontinued using it and have since been using XL. Sr/VA. | ||
