EFC3/T15.4.25. -2- Contd. We suggest that the brushes and the inside of the holders be cleaned with a rag moistened with petrol. We presume from the remarks that the cutout does not cut in; or in other words, as presumably the connections are O.K., that the dynamo is not excited. If it is not a question, as suggested, of a sluggish brush, one may have to look for a faulty connection in the dynamo itself which makes contact when things are warmed up. If not already cured, or above suggestion does not cure the trouble, please let us know what is shown and (<or> whether steady) on the ammeter when, all being cold, the charging switch is put on and the cutout contact caused to make by hand, (a) with engine stopped, and(b) with engine running at a moderate speed.
