P.III. -3- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}7/R.11.11.37. REMARKS. (11) WRAITH WHEEL MOVEMENT. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} states the cost of bringing in this modification at lol in 'D' is £1100. It has been agreed to postpone any decision about this. (12) SUSPENSION. It is not now proposed to alter the dampers on P.III to the Gordon Armstrong type. (13) EXHAUST. Considerable development expense would be required to improve the P.III exhaust system. (14) DIFFERENTIAL. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} has delivered all the 35 sets of parts to the Repair. WRAITH. (15) BRAKES. It has been decided to go ahead with cast iron drums for Wraith. (16) ENGINE. An engine of the final design will be running by 17.11.37. An exhaust valve failure as in France has been repeated on the test bed. Tests will now start with up-to-date valve gear. (17) COMPLAINTS. MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} has written a memo compiling complaints on existing models. These are all being watched on Wraith. An extra groove in the rear main bearing has been instructed for the first six cars to overcome the oil leak. | ||
