* 9785 do To EY. from EFC. c. Mr. Brock. EFC4/T17.8.27. DYNAMO RU.65 EX CHASSIS 26-HC. This machine was found to be of the early type having a control brush angle of 120° from the positive brush. It is evident that the brushes have been removed at some time and improperly replaced. The inner positive and outer negative brushes have become interchanged and were the reverse way round in the holders. The outer control brush appears to be a main brush filed down. This also is the wrong way round in the holder. All brushes shewed signs of an attempt having been made to rebed them. The armature appears to have been overheated all through, as solder has been melted from the end connections and also from the banding wires on the pulley end of the armature. In spite of the above subsequent improper treatment of the machine, we cannot reasonably suggest that the fault in the first instance was other than one of overheating due to too large an output, but it would have been better if the machine could have been returned to us for the original fault without these outside attempts having been made to get the machine right. Machine herewith to EY. EFC. | ||
