Y967 Re tests of steering gear. TBB8/L18412. Mr Spinney 18.4.12. "Will you please get out a scheme for testing complete steering gear, roughly as follows :- The tests will be made in the reverse direction to those recently made, that is to say, the road wheels will be restrained from turning by means of a removable load and the hand wheel will be turned in both directions for nearly the complete lock. A simple timber lever of a suitable length should be attached to the near side road wheel. Connect to the end, light wire ropes running horizontally in each direction and passing first over pulleys on the frame and then over other pulleys suitably attached to the roof or other structure.
