C. to SG. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} SHOCK DAMPERS.

R. {Sir Henry Royce} has instructed that the inner lever boss should be wider, and we accordingly sendherewith N. sch. 3662 which shews a square shaft fixing with a wider boss.

The damper has been moved .100 further from the frame so as not to shorten the inner bearing, but the outer bearing is shorter than it was, and the outer lever is .100 further from the frame than shewn on N. sch. 3634.

The overall width of the damper is not greater than that of the original design with detachable outside lever.
