| 323. S/W To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re P.III. New Type Exhaust System. Referring to the above and the Standardisation Sheet recently circulated, I was not clear what the note on the back really meant about its possible introduction. I find on making enquiries that, whilst we are committed to the present standard material for the whole of 'B' Series, we are also committed for the first 100 in 'C' Series. The ordering of the material for the second half is held up until the Experimental Dept. have carried out the necessary test of the final scheme as produced by the Design Dept. I am informed that the material for this will have to be ordered early in January and that you are hoping to have the test completed before then. I assume you are in close touch on this matter and should be glad to know the actual position. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
