E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hives Esq. Experimental Department. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd. DERBY. YES Dear Mr. Hives, I had a talk with my friend Mr. Cowen, of your Company with regard to rubber engine mountings, and he kindly suggested that I should write to you on the matter. We have, as you may know, been making rubber buffers for Railways for the last 70 years and we think we might be able to give you a rubber engine mounting which would easily outlast the life of the car, retaining its resilience and life for any length of time. If, therefore, you would care to test any particular type or shape of mounting, we would be only too happy to send you samples for trial. I am, yours very truly, J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Sealy Clarke | ||
