X4684 BY/C3/K.{Mr Kilner} 1. 7. 24. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 20-HP CHASSIS VALVES. We are instructing the works to use Silchrome Valves on all 20-HP production chassis, but the works inform us that they have 639 completely finished valves made of Chromium Steel and 350 forgings. We are of the opinion that these could be used for Inlet Valves, using Silchrome in all cases for the Exhaust Valves. In addition to the foregoing, we have a stock of 1420 ft: of 3/4" Dia: Chromium Steel, the value of which is £69/10. When the above valves, forgings and material have been used up, we would of course use Silchrome Valves throughout, but would like to know whether you are in agreement with the proposal or not. BY/C.
