FLYWHEELS, WRAITH & BENTLEY.

Attached is chart Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}571, showing the various fly-wheels which have been used, and suggestions for reducing the number of types to the minimum possible.

Assuming the 20" Long clutch will be used for all Bentley types, (and perhaps the lighter 6 cyl. Wraith), we can use the same flexible disc GB.4417 and the same friction plate GB.4416 throughout, it only being necessary to fit different flywheel rims for the Al, or cast iron engines, as shown in Figs. 4 and 5 respectively, and lighter editions of each are suggested for the Continental type chassis only, still using the same disc and friction plate.

It will be noted that all these new wheels show a considerable reduction in weight in relation to the inertia.

For the 8 cyl. engine and the heavier 6 cyl. Wraith, we have prepared drawings for a similar wheel, which also has a greatly improved inertia weight ratio.

Detail drawings are being issued to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} under Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} numbers.
