To crankshaft with the new [illegible] without bearing loads. on a 6 Cylinder only 4. crankshafts are "revised" & this arrangement is one although having correct 'mass balance' does not for the movement bearing loads, & has an unnecessary amount of inertia. on a 8-cylinder shaft the methods are nearly the same result. As regards distribution in the V8 Cadillacs new down-draught arrangement is fairly good & would be better if the motor was some 4" higher (not possible under their bonnet) and the tank was attached to the risers and not the bottom of the induction pipes.
