Automatic chokes are now electrically operated & take a continuous current from the battery under bonnet temperature but not exhaust heat as in the carburettor's hotbox. Checking Packards say chattering on some chokes can be overcome by altering the engine mounting frequency. They used a car sometimes w/o by this method. or their 12 cylinder car is so vibrationless it has no backlash in its gear & therefore in 2nd gear is the best gear, movement of the free sensors will not our play and a correctly adjusted dashpot for piston & air checks. The car has been checked locally & the problem was isolated as and the 2nd was not due to the new dashpot. Further work not at all under ordinary driving. This last method They state it as the only cure & state this applies on work than standard levels. So far Buicks are the only cars free from this trouble. They state not past any car which was much at our max which was .750 on Free Wheel Release. | ||
