TO [redacted] FROM EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} SECRET ORIGINAL COPY TO [redacted] HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [redacted] RE PEREGRINE. It has occurred to us that whilst we cannot skimp the specification of the Peregrine as a motorcar as the specification of some of the very cheap cars are very complete, yet we feel that if the finished car is identical with the 25.HP. in every detail of design and quality we shall have no excuse for the price of the 25.HP. We are thinking in particular of the coachwork which although equal in quality to that of the 25.HP is less than half the price. We have therefore endeavoured to make the Peregrine differ from the 25.HP. by such changes as outside hinges, door handles, steps, inside pockets etc. always keeping the latest improvement for the more expensive car. We mention all this to lead up to our main point. Ought we not to have a different instrument patch from the 25HP. We suggest that this should be a black panel having instruments with individual glasses. The instruments would be those which we now use and are standard Smith production. A simplified main switch which "E" has considered would be in the centre of the patch. If you agree, and "E" will send us details of the switch we will go ahead with a design in conjunction with Messrs Smith & Sons. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
