| essential. (ii) The open pockets for the wheels would go a long way to spoil the streamlining. Here again I realise you are up against practical difficulties. (iii) A head fairing for the driver would probably improve things. "Generally I should not care to dogmatise without exploratory wind tunnel measurements. I would suggest that deflectors, somewhat on the Townend Ring principle, might be used for lessening the drag of the open cockpit & of the wheel openings. I think you are possibly a bit too pessimistic about the fin effect of a lower tail fairing. Is there any chance of your getting a wind tunnel exploration done? It should be well worth while.
