Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/MS/P. CHK/ DF/ UHL Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. June 7th 1935 for the attention of Mr. West. Dear Sirs, Respectfully referring to the visit of our technical representative, Mr. Uhl, and his interview with Mr. Pignett, for which we are much obliged, we beg to comment as follows on the result of the trials with our Carbon Brushes as tested on your small size car generators. In submitting trial brushes in our grades 'EN 150', 'NRC{N. R. Chandler}', '8579' and '4618' we were sending brushes in material of four widely different classes of carbon, with the expectation that by the various results, the most suitable class of grade could be determined, deriving therefore knowledge for more specific recommendations. In consequence we should like to recommend testing brushes in our grades '8618a' and '862ON' both of which we expect to give satisfactory commutation and life. Anticipating your kind permission we have taken in hand.. Six (6) brushes of each in above grades and to drawings D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 71256, D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 71257, and D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 54094 for despatch during next week. We enclose curve sheets of both grades for information. During the conversation, the mechanical stability of brushes was also under discussion, and we would consider that fitting four brushes instead of two as at present, will greatly assist on this point. | ||
