Re - Broaching Big End of Connecting Rod.

I am quite in agreement with the broaching of the
big end of the connecting rod as suggested in yours of the
12th. I think it would be quite a good thing to push through
a smooth broach for the finish. Many years ago we used to do
this with white metal dynamo bearings.

The broach mentioned has really a hardened ground and
polished mandrill of a suitable size.

In reading your memo it suggests that the rods are
.00725" over the size of the crankshaft, that is you fitted
them up with 7 1/2 thous. clearance.
