Instructions for manufacturing and modifying armatures and commutators for the SS Chassis Dynamo, with an attached list of blueprints.

X. 7660 Will you please put in hand 3 armatures and commutators, intermediate output type, to Part List D.72238 - Armature and D.72244 - Commutator. These armatures are to be fitted into the existing carcase and bearing brackets etc. and the only change that will be necessary is that the commutator end bracket at present fitted will require re-drilling to blueprint D.72010 which you already have. When the above armatures are complete and assembled in the machines we shall then have 5 of the original SS.{S. Smith} dynamos brought up to date i.e. the 2 machines on 19 and 23-EX brought into line with production, 3 intermediate output machines as above. The remaining 3 machines should also be brought into line with production by having new armatures to Part List D.71653 slotted and wound to D.71998/9. The commutator end bearing bracket will also require re-drilling to D.72010. We attach herewith blueprints of:- D.72238 - Armature LOP. D.72238 - Armature Assembly. D.72239 - Winding Diagram.
