For the attention of Mr. Young.

Dear Sirs,

We have received the EB.3256 valve springs which you have had back to improve the finish at the ends.

Although they are somewhat better than their original condition we are still, far from satisfied and there are approximately 350 out of the 400 odd which the inspection dept. have rejected, however we are going to grind up the ends to make a passable job.

Will you please endeavour to ensure that the next batch and all future springs have a good finish at the ends including the flat face grinding and the inner and outer coil chamfering.

As pointed out on your previous visit, previous sample springs we have had including some clutch springs received by our Mr. Chandler have definitely a better finish than the first batch of 430 valve springs. The apparatus required to do the flat facing and chamfering of the end coils is so simple to produce satisfactory results as we have witnessed in bringing your springs up to a desired finish.
