To BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to CJ. " " HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " DR. (crossed out) " " BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} (crossed out) ORIGINAL. R9/G4/2/20. 6 D 5/3/20 X.3431 X.3463 X.3565 X.3563 RE PRESENT 40/50 H.P. CHASSIS. With reference to the present 40/50 H.P., if we use the thermostat as arranged, we do not need thermometers, which appear to be rather unsatisfactory, both as regards fitting and remaining in permanently good order; the one on 1 EX. has stopped. As regards smoke in the body, I notice that it is highly desirable that the breather should be capable of blowing the fumes from the crankchamber outside the undershield or behind the holes for the pedals.
