contd :- -2- We believe the cause of failures of the Universal joint is that the joint is not receiving oil in the first place. We tried various automatic oiling schemes but they were not successful. We definitely state, that on no occasion during many many 10,000 miles runs in France (i.e. 500 miles per day with the sphere replenished with one gun-ful of oil every 1000 miles) have we had any sign of failure of the universal joint. We have not replaced any bushes after the tests and we say definitely that if attention to the accessibility of the Enots lubricator is watched and oil replenished as stated in the Instruction Book, there will be no failure of the universal joint. We would recommend that the oiling of the sphere in the Instruction Book be underlined to bring its importance to the notice of the Owner. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ | ||
