X1457 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Mr. Walker/D.O. c. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} PHANTOM CHASSIS - RE LUBRICATION OF UNIVERSAL JOINT. Referring to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}5/H.1.10.28. we consider that the information conveyed in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG.9.10.28. establishes the fact that if the joint control spheres are properly made so that they will be oil tight, and secondly that the necessary oil is supplied regularly at the right intervals, there should be no further complaint based on inadequate lubrication of the universal joint. We have already instructed the Works that they must make sure that a perfectly oil tight joint is made between the two halves of the stationary steel control sphere. BY.{R.W.
