CHASSIS - SELF STARTER GEAR ON GEAR BOX.

We find that the Expl; Dept: are modifying not only the springs, but also the fitting which carried the springs, and in addition, are adding a thimble in order to enable them to use the spring a considerably smaller rating.

In view of the fact that instructions are not available for the new scheme, and that it will mean a fair amount of work to get going, when we do get instructions, so far as the Works are concerned, it will be necessary for us to continue to build up the Friction Drive to the present arrangement.

We should only work, however, to meet our actual requirements.
