PH.III - REAR BRAKES.

Referring to the increase of clearance between the foot and hand brake shoes recently instructed by N.Sch.5141, we now send N.Sch.5147 showing the .075 sideways movement of the foot brake shoe accommodated by movement of the cam instead of by an offset toggle.

The sleeve which surrounds the camshaft and incorporates the lever for the push rod cannot be made from existing machined pieces, but although the angle between the lever and the sleeve is altered it may be possible to machine this piece from existing forgings. The increased width of lever asked for on N.Sch.5141 is not now required.

Att:N.Sch.5147.
