With reference to the enquiry in your letter C14/P14612.

regarding my experience of Rudge-Whitworth detachable wire wheels - the total distance that they have run is about 19,800 miles.
For the first 4,000 miles there was no trouble with the spoke s, but the Hub Caps required frequent tightening. Since then the Hub Caps remained in good order and have given no trouble, but we have had a great deal of trouble with broken spokes, which have had to be very frequently replaced by new spokes.

You may remember that the wheels were fitted by you when the car was new in the beginning of July 1909, so that they are not of the latest design.

You did not recommend the wheels at that time, but I have found the detachable wheels a very great convenience when tyre trouble occurred on the road.
