BENTLEY III EXHAUST FITTINGS.

We have just received the Design drawings shewing the proposed exhaust system layout for Bentley III, and we are very surprised to find on drawing E.C.D.115, such a small and totally inadequate front expansion box.

Four months of extensive experimental work on the present Bentley and Wraith cars has taught us how necessary a large front expansion box is to maintain a R.R. standard of exhaust silence.

The design office were informed of this fact many months ago, and as the Bentley III is a brand new designed car it is annoying to find past experience so entirely ignored.

Whilst appreciating that the exhaust system is only a small part of the car, it can, and has been a very annoying part, and as design have never been able to give us any assistance with our exhaust noise problems in the past, we feel that more attention to our suggestions could have been given.
