YNG ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c.EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c.Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 81282 See me #s BY.1/J.20.11.33. Aero Engine Fuel to Specns.D.T.D.224 & 230. -------------------------------------------- We find that the fuel delivered to us by Shell Mex Limited, to specification D.T.D.224 is unsuit- able for type test as the octane value is above the limit permitted for type test engines. In order to avoid the rejection of a type test on the grounds of wrong fuel being used, it is imperative that the following instructions be carried out:- (1) All type test fuel must be delivered in Barrels irrespective of whether it is to specification D.T.D.224 or D.T.D.230. (2) A release note and certificate giving the octane value must accompany every delivery. The Fuel is useless to us without such certificate and must not be sent without it. (3) Our Orders must clearly state when the fuel is required for Engine type test. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} BY | ||
