X3579. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. Autovac. BJ2/E11/4/27 With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG8/4/27, you are evidently not quite clear on this matter. Mr.Gastall of the Autovac Co. informed me that he was not aware that RR cars fitted with the Autovac as supplied to-day with the latest improvements made the running of a RR car inferior to the manner in which these cars ran before the Autovac was fitted, especially in regard to low speed running. What I am asking for is our opinion of the Autovac to-day, and whether the Autovac Co. are aware of our opinion to-day. The correspondence you have sent to me so far concerns our opinion of the Autovac two years ago, but, if I forward these this to Mr.Gastall, he will probably reply that many things have happened during the past two years and improvements have been made which have overcome the troubles we then complained of.
