X.3461. RE REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS.

Before the London Trials Landaulette is run with the rear shock absorbers, we think you should satisfy yourself that they are not going to foul the mudguard stays or mudguards. On the maximum bump, the top of the connecting tube for the shock absorbers becomes level with the top of the frame. I remember, when the London Trials car was at Derby, I thought that the rear mudguard stay would have to be altered. The men who fitted the shock absorbers on, could not tell us because they said there were no mudguards fitted to the car when they were working on it.

We think this is a point that you should also make certain is correct on the open trials which you propose to take away.

We are sending a Fitter with the shock absorbers for 19-LW by the 8-o-clock train to-morrow morning.
