To Roy. {Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} X8561 EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T15.10.28. GLOVERITE AND SUPER-GLOVER H.T. CABLE. The position in respect of these is that (1) We have made our physical and chemical tests. (2) We have not yet been able to make our electrical tests of unused samples. (3) We have completed a 10,000 mile test of a sandwich system of Gloverite, super-Glover and standard Glover on the car, and we have the cables with us for examination and test. Our final report and suggestion for standardisation will be issued in due course. Messrs. Glovers recommendation of the use of the special super-Glover cables contained in their letter of May 25th last, was rather belated because in the meanwhile we have put through a comparative test of Maconites cable with the old std. Glover, which Maconites has now been standardised. It will therefore be more difficult than it would have been had we had the makers' recommendation earlier, because before standardising anything it has to show clear superiority over something that has gone before.
