For the attention of Mr. Fraser.
Your ref. AF/AL .

Dear Sirs,

We return herewith the Premier Steel Co's. report and photograph, as requested, and in view of your explanation we feel sure that production supplies will be satisfactory. We would still like to examine two correct spindles, however, and we would like you to recognize that your production supplies will be carefully examined by us.

With regard to the expander housing which failed, the reason for the failure is not quite clear but our Laboratory has stated that the die casting alloy you use is unsatisfactory for high duty. Since the ground pins through the casting may have to carry some load, we would feel more confident if the alloy was a high duty alloy, and we think the wisest proceedure is for you to buy the die casting from us. Mr. Leslie has already approached you about this, and we will leave the matter in his hands.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
