W/S To Bkl. from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to BY c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ---------- ROY{Sir Henry Royce}1/MG14.4.34 ---------- I see in "THE MOTOR WORLD" dated April 6th, on Advertisement Page 1, the Vacuum Oil Company advertise the fact that we recommend VACUUM MOBILOIL C for the Bentley Back Axle. I suggest this statement be qualified, as has been done in the Bentley Instruction Book, page 28, i.e., we recommend WHITMORE'S "O" COMPOUND, and state if not obtainable top up only with Wakefield's CASTROL S.T. Price's AMBER A, or Vacuum MOBILOIL C. One can quite understand if a client continues to top up with VACUUM MOBILOIL C it will not be long before he has that lubricant, and that lubricant only in his back axle - possibly with disastrous results.
