Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited,
DERBY. England.

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham.

Running-in Oils.

Further to our letters of the 29th July and 11th October, in regard to the supply of an experimental oil for running-in new engines, marked "EX.144", and as later discussed with Mr. S. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Grylls at the Motor Show, we should be glad to know whether this product has proved of value in regard to running-in of new engines, as we are particularly anxious to receive your opinion on this product to enable us to decide whether it should be made generally available for Engine Builders.

We understood from our discussion with Mr. Grylls at the Motor Show that some tests had been done on EX.144 Oil in gearboxes, but as it was originally supplied for test in engines, we would be pleased to know whether the results have been satisfactory in all respects.

Yours faithfully,
VACUUM OIL COMPANY, LIMITED.

C. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Hales
Chief Engineer.
