Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}2/T21C17.
Oct. 2nd, 1917.

At a conference held between Mr. Royce, Mr. Basil Johnson, Mr. Whitehead and myself, it was arranged, subject to certain conditions and arrangements being made with the Air Board, that America be asked to produce the following Units for Eagle engines:-

(1). 500 Crankshafts, at the rate of 40 per week.

(2). 500 sets of Connecting Rods complete in every detail, both rods, ready for fitting on the Crankshaft. At the rate of 40 sets per week.

(3). 500 sets of Cam & Rocker Mechanism complete in every detail with the exception of Camshafts, which will be made in [strikethrough]this country[/strikethrough] [handwritten above]here[/handwritten] to be delivered at the rate of 40 sets per week.
Mr. Royce is of the opinion that Aluminium Cam Cases would be standard by now. This matter should be considered in connection with these Cam Cases.

(4). 500 sets of Wheelcase and Gears, suitable for two Magnetos instead of four. Mr. Royce stated that it would be best to take the old form of the two magneto wheelcase and alter the present crankcase, upper and lower halves, to suit the old type wheelcase. At the rate of 40 sets per week.

(5). 500 sets of new type Camshaft Drive. Mr. Royce understood that 6 sets were being pushed through the Works in order that they should be fitted to 6 engines in accordance with Air Board instructions, and there is no reason why these should not be rapidly standardised. However, he insists that special efforts should be made to standardise these Camshaft Drives at the earliest possible moment.
To be supplied at the rate of 40 sets per week.

(6). 500 complete sets of Ball & Roller Bearings.

(7). Bars, Billets & Aluminium for 500 sets of the rest of the engine not mentioned above.
