Huckerby}9.1.34 See me re BENTLEY - SILENCER SPITTING -------------------------- This is to point out that the silencer on B-7-AE has spit on three occasions and been re-welded. We have also re-welded the silencer on B-15-AE owing to the same trouble. A modification has been made on the new silencers whereby there is an internal expanding joint. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}is of the opinion that the silencers on all cars which have not got this modification fitted should be changed when the cars become available. We shall be glad if you will please instruct accordingly, and also specially instruct for silencer units to be prepared immediately so that we can deal with B-7-AE, which we are informed is being sent to the Works for attention to this point on Thursday and the car must be returned as soon as possible as it is required for an important trial run.
