X.3175 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}8/H25.9.24. 20 HP. and 40/50 CHASSIS - Suitable Jacks for Balloon Tyres. X.4080 X.3175. It has been brought to our attention that the present type of jack we supply with the 20HP. car cannot be used for jacking up the front wheels when Balloon Tyres are fitted and they tyres are deflated. We have now a 20 HP. chassis on test and have instructions that this chassis should be fitted with Balloon Tyres before despatch. We shall be glad if you can give some instructions in this matter as to whether a special jack is to be supplied or whether any action is to be taken in informing Sales or the customer as to how this trouble can be temporarily over-come. Can Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} please go into the matter of suitable Jacks for both 20 HP. and 40/50 HP. cars when fitted with Balloon Tyres and make recommendations accordingly. EP.{G.
