FAN TESTS ON 98-NK.

Condition of tests.
Full throttle, braking down to required speed.
All tests taken under exactly similar conditions as regards roads and direction of motion.

T1 = Temp: at start of run in °C.
T2 = " finish " " "
T2 - T1 = Increase in engine temp. during test.

Air temp. during tests = 23.5°C.
Bonnet shutters open.

| FAN WITH THREE BLADES. | | | | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | T2 | T2 - T1 | Distance miles. | Speed m.p.h. |
| 84° | 92.5° | 8.5° | 1 | 20 |
| 85° | 93° | 8° | 1 | 30 |
| 88° | 92° | 4° | 1 | 40 |
| 86.5° | 91° | 4.5° | 1 | 50 |
| 90° | 92° | 2° | 2 | 60 |

| STANDARD FAN. | | | | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | T2 | T2 - T1 | Dist: miles. | Speed m.p.h. |
| 84° | 90° | 6° | 1 | 20 |
| 85° | 93° | 8° | 1 | 30 |
| 89° | 94° | 5° | 1 | 40 |
| 89° | 94° | 5° | 1 | 50 |
| 86.5° | 90° | 3.5° | 2 | 60 |

The above results shew that the three bladed fan reduces the possibility of boiling during high speed work, but is slightly less efficient than the standard fan at low speeds.
