137. Mr.Walker. Mr.Edwards. RE.109. CYLINDER HEAD. 10.4.40. A/C. (1) Profile of cyl. block joint face should have .100 rad. all round. It is now sharp cornered. (2) 2.125 cored dia. inside water connection housing is misplaced, being .030" out from cyl. ℄ (3) .030 to .050 surplus metal around joint face profile of same housing. (4) .062 surplus metal on top side of water facing to ind. pipe (5) Top core is misplaced .020 towards exhaust side. (6) .175 thickness of wall to receive rocker cover is -.050 at local point (at front end). (7) Flange thickness has not been formed on under-side of inlet facings (to facilitate withdrawal?). (8) 1.900 width of inlet port at main stud bosses is + .025. (9) .400 rad. to valve guide bosses is +.050. (10) Length of valve guide bosses is slightly short .025) (11) .525 from intersection to valve seat is +.025. (12) Combustion Chamber is .025 too deep. (13) 1.225 cored width inside rear end cover facing is .035 too wide. shortage being at top. This fault also concerns stud bosses behind facing. (14) Shell core is .040 'high'. (15) Bosses in shell core are oversize on diam. (16) 8 main stud bosses .650 dia. now .775 (inlet side). (17) Excessive thickness of walls on induction side adjacent to core plugs.
