Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMN. (Chateauroux) GIRLING REAR BRAKES - BENTLEY. Referring to the failure of the cross rod from equalizer to expander, on c.s.iv in France, it has been agreed to use a solid rod in this location, both on Bentley II. and Bentley III, to remove any possibility of threads working loose due to flexing in the junction piece. The rod will have to be set up at one end, to form an eye. This is a case where our old practice of setting up 1/2" dia. rods at the ends to form 5/16" threads, should be used. Will you please issue the necessary instructions. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
